Wedesday, September 5: New York (JFK)
Depart New York on your overnight flight to Tel Aviv. (Meals in flight)
Thursday, September 6: Tel Aviv - Netanya
We arrive in Tel Aviv and meet our local C-Tour manager at the airport. Then we transfer via private motorcoach to our hotel on the coast of the Mediterranean. If time permits we may visit the ancient port city of Jaffa en route. Dinner and overnight in Nentanya.
Friday, September 7: Caesarea – Mt. Carmel – Nazareth - Cana
Breakfast. This morning we travel to Caesarea Maritima for our opening talk – with a brief visit to the site. We will make a stop at Mt. Carmel (Muhraka) for a panorama of landscape and talk on Elijah. Continue to Nazareth and visit the Basilica of the Annunciation (talk and Angelus in plaza) and the Church of St. Joseph with time for prayer.
After lunch on own, visit Nazareth Village, a re-creation of 1st century Nazareth, allowing visitors to gain a better appreciation for the life, customs and practices of Jesus’ home town. Continue to Cana for Mass and renewal of wedding vows, before driving to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.
Saturday, September 8: Tabgha - Capernaum – Banias –Tiberias
Breakfast. Early morning prayer and presentation at the Chapel of Peter’s Primacy in Tabgha. We will visit the site of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes. Next we visit Capernaum with Mass at St. Peter’s house. We will also visit Caesarea Philippi before returning to the Sea of Galilee for a boat ride back to Tiberias. There we will stop at the Mt. of Beatitudes. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.
Sunday, September 9: Mt. Tabor – Jerusalem
Breakfast. Early morning visit to Mt.Tabor with Mass (8:30 AM). Break for Ice cream along the way. We continue south along the Jordan River valley past Jericho into Jerusalem with a panoramic view of the Old City from the Mt. of Olives. Lunch at Crystals in Bethlehem on own, followed by a visit to the Church of the Nativity and time for shopping at a Christian store. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Monday, September 10: Jerusalem: Holy Sepulchre Church - Old City & Via Dolorosa
Breakfast. We begin the morning at the Mt. of Olives walking down to Pater Noster, Dominus Flevit and the Garden of Gethsemane (with Mass in the Cave). If time and interest permits we will visit the Church of All Nations, Cave of the Assumption, the Holy Sepulchre, and Christian Quarter (free time). Today you will also visit the Western wall and Temple Mount. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Tuesday, September 11: Dead Sea - Masada – Qumran – Jericho – Jerusalem
After breakfast we embark on an excursion to the Dead Sea. Our first stop will be Qasr al-Yahud, a baptismal site on the Jordan River. Mass will be celebrated outside at this site. We continue then with a visit to Masada. If time and interest permits, stop at Qumran. We return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Wednesday, September 12: Jerusalem
EARLY (5 AM) We begin the day with a visit to St. Anne’s and the Pools of Bethesda. Then we begin walking along the Via Dolorosa carrying the cross and meditating at each station. Next we visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre with Mass. Return to hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, visit the Israel Museum and Dead Sea Scrolls. Afternoon free for sightseeing on own; perhaps the Yad Va Shem Holocaust Museum, Ramparts, or shopping in Old Jerusalem. Dinner and overnight.
Thursday, September 13: Jerusalem - Ein Karem – Tel Aviv
After breakfast we will check out of our hotel and stop in Ein Karem to visit the Church of John the Baptist and the Church of the Visitation for Mass. In the afternoon visit the Church of St. Peter Gallicantu and the Southern Steps. Celebrate with a farewell dinner and transfer to the airport for your overnight flight home.
