New assignment for Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC, announced

Last summer, Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC, announced publicly that he was taking a pause from his leadership role in the Marian Missionaries of Divine Mercy (MMDM) to prayerfully discern the next chapter in his priestly ministry.

Today, the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception is pleased to announce that Fr. Gaitley will be joining our Marian ministry team in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The vibrant parish communities there will be well served by Fr. Gaitley's preaching, compassion, and zeal for evangelization.

We congratulate Fr. Gaitley for his fruitful service at MMDM. Over the course of eight years, hundreds of pilgrims have attended retreats and enjoyed hospitality; several men have been called to the priesthood; and the poor and needy in the area have been accompanied and consoled. MMDM represented Divine Mercy in action.

The Congregation of Marian Fathers, which is not affiliated with MMDM, wishes the MMDM and its Board of Directors success in its future operations.

It’s so fitting that May is the month of Mother’s Day, celebrated this year on May 12. Every good mother is a good mother insofar as she is a shadow, an imitation of Our Lady, Mother of God, Mother of Mercy, and Mother of All the Living.

He “gave his life for the ransom of many” (Mk 10:45). This verse describes our Lord Jesus Christ, of course, but could also well be said of St. Damien de Veuster of Molokai (feast day: May 10), a priest who served on the leper colony of Molokai in the Hawaiian Islands during the 19th century.

"When the liturgy parallels what is happening in my life, I pay attention," Br. Josh, MIC, says, "and the Lord provided a sign in the sky that day."
