Alliance of the Two Hearts Novena
May 21 -
29
Feast Day: May 31
Entrust yourself, your family, or other special intentions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
In the Alliance of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary Novena, the Marians will be offering 9 days of Holy Mass in preparation for the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, May 30, and the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, May 31 (not observed liturgically in 2008).
The expression "Alliance of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary" was coined by Pope John Paul II in his Angelus address of September 15, 1985. He exhorted the faithful to unite with the "admirable alliance" of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
In the Bible, the "heart" is not only a vital organ — it is a reference to the disposition of the whole person. The word "heart" is used in the Gospel in reference to only two individual persons: Jesus (Mt 11:29) and Mary (Lk 2:19, 51). Their two Hearts made the perfect response to the Father for the sake of our salvation. We see the pierced Hearts as an expression of that selfless love.
We turn again with trust to Jesus and Mary, to look upon us with merciful love.
Please send us your special intentions to be remembered in this novena.

Bl. Anthony & Bl. George
June 3 -
11
Feast Day: June 12
In February of 1943, in land formerly held by the Soviet Union, a church filled with detainees awaited a fiery death at the hands of Nazi soldiers.
Two Marian priests brought them hope and consolation.
Fathers Anthony and George, who also had been detained by the Nazis, were told they could go free and avoid the same fate as the people they had been serving.
Instead, both priests chose to stay with their people to the end, when they were burned by the Nazis in Rosica on February 17, 1943. The priests spent their final days hearing confessions, celebrating Mass, and baptizing converts to Catholicism.
Fathers Anthony and George were beatified by Pope John Paul II on June 13, 1999.
We now pray through the intercession of Blessed Anthony and Blessed George for your intentions.
