Friends of God: The First Homily of Deacon Matt Holladay, MIC

On Sunday, September 2, 2018, the newly ordained Deacon Matt Holladay, MIC, gave his first homily at the Holy Mass celebrated at the Divine Mercy Chapel located at the Marian Assisted Living in Brookeville, Maryland. He explained what it really means to be a friend of God.

On Sept. 3, Deacon Timothy Childers, MIC and Deacon Jason Lewis, MIC were ordained to the transitional diaconate by the Most Rev. Roy Edward Campbell, Jr., auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington, at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.

The perpetual profession of vows, also known as making perpetual or final vows, is the last step in joining a religious congregation. Two Marian brothers will take that "last step" this month with the Marians: Br. Jason Lewis, MIC, and Br. Ruben Veloz, MIC.
