Marian Ordination, Vows in August

We are pleased to announce that you may "virtually" attend three very special Marian events taking place Aug. 15-17 at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

Join us on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 9 a.m. EST, as three of our novices profess first vows as members of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. Additionally, our seminarians on Eden Hill will renew their vows for another year. The remaining seminarians will renew their vows from their respective formation houses in Washington, DC, and Steubenville, Ohio.

Then on Sunday, Aug. 16, at 5 p.m. EST, Br. Tyler Mentzer, MIC, will profess perpetual vows and become a permanent member of the Marian Congregation.

Finally, Deacon David Smith, MIC, will be ordained to the sacred priesthood on Monday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m. EST by Most Rev. Robert J. McManus from the Diocese of Worcester. We look forward to Father David serving as a priest in our Mother of Mercy Province in the USA.

Due to the diocesan COVID-19 regulations, we regret that we are not able to invite our Marian Helpers or the public to attend these events in person. However, you can watch them live online. Links will be available on each event day at our homepage of TheDivineMercy.org.

Thank you for all your prayers and support!

December 11 is the anniversary of the founding of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. On this day in 1670, St. Stanislaus Papczyński left the Piarist order and made his oblatio, his self-offering, to defend the Immaculate Conception.

Stories about his selfless generosity of heart are the chief reasons St. Nicholas, feast day Dec. 6, is so affectionately revered.

Saint Cecilia's feast on Nov. 22 is a good day to reflect on what music is and does - particularly sacred music.
