"Father Thad has been teaching our community about poverty in religious life," says Brother Josh, "and for me, poverty is tied to peace, freedom, and simplicity. My mind feels tranquil when I have very little."
"One day, in the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy, the 'unthinkable' happened," Br. Josh, MIC, relates. "A Marian leader announced that we would sing the hymn, 'A Mighty Fortress is Our God.'”
Venerable Pope Pius XII called St. Andrew Bobola, patron of Poland, "the greatest martyr." Brother Josh, MIC, learns why.
"A member of Encounter Ministries told me a year ago that the Father was looking on me with great pride because of my perseverance," reports Br. Josh, MIC, "but this didn’t sink home until now."
"My first year in seminary is over," reports Br. Josh, MIC, "and I am enjoying a peaceful interlude before the next school year begins."
The day of the marathon has finally arrived for Br. Josh, MIC. It begins at 4:30 in the morning.
“Praying and sacrificing so much without fruit is discouraging," Br. Josh, MIC, complains to God. Then God gives him the answer.
"There is a very special place in God’s heart for us sinners, and I am no better than anyone else," says Br. Josh, MIC. "This Paschal Triduum, I was beautifully reminded of how good and merciful God is."
