On the Solemnity of the Annunciation, March 25, Pope Francis invites Catholics to renew an act of consecration of the Church and humanity to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, especially for the cause of peace in Ukraine.
It's fitting that we begin the New Year "under the mantle" of the Mother of God, for we certainly do need her intercession in this valley of tears. Indeed, we have little hope without it.
Amidst these escalating struggles, our Blessed Mother cries out in the world for peace … but the world is not listening. She speaks to us especially on Jan. 1, the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God and the World Day of Peace.
