The Marians and Mary?

Imitating the life of Christ and participating in the mystery of His redemption, the Congregation of Marians of the Immaculate Conception keep before their eyes Mary, the humble handmaid of the Lord. Mary serves as a model of perfect union with Christ. For under Him and with Him, serving in the mystery of redemption, by her obedience she became the cause of salvation for herself, as well as for the whole human race.

The founder of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception, Blessed Stanislaus of Jesus and Mary Papczynski, referred to the Virgin Mary as a "tower of refuge." Under Mary's protection, he wrote,  "a sinner does not have to fear anything, anything! Oh, Mother, more merciful than we can say or think! When the sinful sons of Adam came to hide in your lap, they are free from fear and the danger of eternal death. They receive the assurance of a happy eternity."

Since its founding in 1673, the Congregation  of Marians of the Immaculate Conception has attracted holy men zealous to spread devotion to Our Lady. The following are thoughts on Our Lady from some Marians today:

"We Marians want to imitate Mary’s faith and Mary’s receptive stance to God’s will. She faced the future with hope in the Lord, and she always had the grace to say “yes.” Ultimately, we hope that our Marian devotion helps us put our piety into action, so that prayer becomes action, or the Word becomes flesh, just as it became flesh in Mary."
— Fr. David Lord, MIC

"Why pray to Mary? Because she is the Mother of God, and everyone knows that a mother knows her child better than anyone. Mary helps us to better understand her Son."
— Br. Michael Opalacz, MIC,

"I know that she has received from her Son unlimited treasures of His love for us on our perilous journey through this life to the Father's House. With her alongside me, I need not fear any danger. She is there for us all with her Son, the Eternal Word of God, calling each of us home to Him and to the Father."
— Fr. Kazimierz Chwalek, MIC

"The Immaculate Heart of Mary is very tender and sensitive to what we feel in our human hearts. That is how I know she understands my prayers. We should stay close to Mary, because she brings us to Jesus. She is a gentle mother who loves us deeply. When we ask her to bring us to Jesus, she never fails to do it."
— Br. Albin Milewski, MIC

"Mary does not take away from Jesus, but rather leads us deeper into the Heart of her Son. By growing in our relationship with Mary, we cannot help but fall more radically in love with Jesus."
— Br. Andrew Davy, MIC

"Mary's purity inspires me every day to try to live a life without sin. She is my example of how to be a true Christian disciple."
— Fr. Matthew Lamoureux, MIC

"She became the model for me in how to live my life because she led a spiritual life so perfectly. She dealt with the nitty-gritty of life. … She was the struggling mother. She was a real person, here on earth, whose trials were tremendous."
— Br. John Bryda, MIC

"One way or another, she looks to attract individuals toward herself. I would simply counsel people to be on the look and listen for her invitation."
— Fr. Seraphim Michalenko, MIC

"What is it about Our Lady that continually inspires me? She's most powerful next to God. She's most merciful next to God. I am a spiritual child of hers — we all are. If we all really knew who Our Lady is, everyone would have a great devotion to her!"
— Fr. John Larson, MIC
