Many thought the pandemic might spell the end of our Divine Mercy ministry. After all, we had to cancel our conferences and parish missions and close our Shrine to visitors, including on Divine Mercy Sunday Weekend.
But something amazing happened.
Father Chris Alar, MIC, explains.
"Do not be afraid, Zechariah, because your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall name him John" (Lk 1:13). June 24 is the Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist.
There's a good reason why the Feasts of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (June 12) and the Immaculate Heart of Mary (June 13) are celebrated next to each other.
Marian vocations are thriving! On Ordination Weekend, May 8 and 9, 2026, at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy, we welcomed three new Deacons and one new Priest for the Marian Congregation.
