It Wasn't Easy Being St. Rita

Father Dan Cambra, MIC, a scholar on the saints, digs deeply into the 14th century to rediscover St. Rita of Cascia, whose feast day is May 22.

After 18 years of married life, St. Rita (1386-1457) was widowed and then her two sons died. Now single, she was called to the religious life.  Jesus imprinted on her brow the mark of a thorn from His crown.
